In the operation gesture design, in addition to the most basic gestures multi-touch user familiar, such as selection, open, it is needed to study other categories of gestures for the interaction with GIS spatial data, such as navigation operations, object operations, drawing operations, collaborative operations, etc., and also their usability, including learnability, accuracy, effectiveness. Gesture representation and operation process should consistent with the common usage in particular culture, visual and meaningful gestures conform to the cognitive habits are easy to remember and learn. In order to make non professional users quickly and easily learn GIS operation gestures, the establishment of industry standards of systematic and scientific operation gestures as soon as possible is imperative.
