Occupational health care services and health care insurance should be provided for particular migrant workers, so that legal migrant workers are cared for and treated the same as Thais under the Universal Health Insurance Scheme.
Translators should be widely available during health care transactions for patients who do not speak Thai. Migrant workers should be instructed how to develop and maintain a family folder recording their self-care activities. In addition, communication with migrant workers should be adapted and simplified to make it less literacy dependent, such as using verbal instead of written communication. Community leaders should
encourage better community understanding of migrant workers and should provide health-volunteer services, especially for migrant workers.
