Based on the data in the current study it can be concluded
that beef cattle at pasture spend most (more than
95%) of their time engaged in four major behaviours,
grazing, walking, standing ruminating/resting and lying
resting/ruminating. There were 14 other behaviours
observed, but these only accounted for the remaining 5%
of the time budget. The data presented in the current study
form the basis of what can be considered to be normal
behaviour of cattle at pasture.
