In The Fragment and the Sublime, Natee Utarit proves once again that good artists can make new what commercialism has over time diluted and plagiarized. On exhibit at VWFA will be a new series of paintings and sculptures in which the artist weaves together elements of flowers, landscapes and classical Greek sculpture, in beautiful yet unsettling compositions, in a complex critique of Thai society's sudden fascination for a "neo-classical" architectural aesthetic.
