What is the Bird-Friendly Certified Hay Program?
The Bird-Friendly Certified Hay Program (“Program”) is a voluntary three-year pilot project funded in part by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Credit Valley Conservation (CVC). It aims to assist in the recovery of Bobolink and Eastern Meadowlark by providing improved habitat quality and by reducing nest damage and juvenile and adult mortality within hay fields caused by farm machinery.
