Does the action (or policy) optimize the consequences and generate the greatest net expectable utility for all parties involved?
In my opinion, the censorship policy does generate the greatest net expectable utility (net benefits) for all parties involved.
In this case, there are two levels of all parties involved
Individual level, all parties are students, faculties, staffs: Personally, this policy can prevent them from encountering with “improper incidents” which can affect their emotions and can subside their learning or working performances.
Organization level, all parties mentioned above are also the personnel of NEU: In my opinion, this policy is beneficial to NEU because it can prevent NEU from legal liabilities from the same incidents happened in the future. If NEU has a legal liabilities problem, it will affect it’s personnel also.
