“Stop Pubbbing” is a campaign that combines textual and visual elements in order to communicate its desired message. This campaign is an initiative meant to stop the behaviour called “phubbing”, which has been defined, by the creators of the campaign, as “the act of snubbing someone in a social setting by looking at your phone instead of paying attention” (“Stop Phubbing”). This definition, which is also the introductory point of this campaign, is trying to communicate this problem as being a real one in the way that it involves mobile phones, a gadget that, presumably, most people have nowadays, and their users. The title of the campaign, “Stop phubbing”, is a clear call to action which implies that people need to take the initiative in order to stop this behaviour, and they are the only ones who can do so (considering the definition of “phubbing”).
