The rear of the building connects with Phra Thinang phiman Rattaya where the king used to sleep, with two simple structures on either side known as Phra Brat Sai and Phra Brat Kwa which were used by royal consorts and female members of the royal family. In the courtyard at the front on either side of phra Thinang Dusit Maha Prasat are two salas, or L-shaped pavillions known as Tim Kod, constructed for courtiers and officials when he king made appearances on the throne in the porch.
