5.2. Quality of the Model Predictions
Figure 13 shows the tensile Young’s moduli of all concrete specimens predicted by using the proposed composite model. Each bar presents the average of 10 simulations for each concrete mixture and at each age. The bar graph indicates that the predicted Young’s moduli are in good agreement with the experimental values; the ratio of the two is in range of 0.90 to 1.07. This implies that the tensile modulus of concrete can be predicted appropriately by employing the composite model when the volume fraction of constituents is known.
