Fig. 2 presents also the effect of hexane/seed ratio (LS) on extraction yield. As it can be seen, higher solvent/solid ratio resulted
in larger concentration gradient during the diffusion from solid into the solution and, thus, in higher seed oil concentration
in the extract and higher yield. Li et al. (2005); Zhang et al. (2008), and Qu et al. (2010) also reported this effect of solvent/sample ratio on the extraction yield of chlorogenic acid from Eucommia ulmodies, oil from flaxseed, and antioxidants from pomegranate marc, respectively.
