Microsatellite genotypes were acquired from 242 individual P. paucidens specimens from 23 sampling locations. The results
of genetic diversity analyses are presented in Table 5. HAN and WoJu were the highest among river systems and locations,
respectively, in terms of Na, Ne, and I. YOUNGSAN and GoYa had the highest values for HO and HUE among river
systems and locations, respectively. YOUNGSAN had the highest HE among river systems, and NmHe had the highest HE
among locations. Similar to the results for mtDNA, the genetic diversity observed in westward-flowing river systems was
higher overall than that observed in southward-flowing river systems. HAN and SEOMJIN showed the highest and lowest
GarzaeWilliamson indices, respectively (Table 5). This suggested that SEOMJIN may have undergone the most severe
bottleneck in the recent past
