Dr. Carter describes the process of organizational development as a journey. He believes that vision, mission and values are central to that journey. He notes: “Sometimes we get off the path, but we know where the path is and hopefully, if we never lose the groundedness—which is our vision, values, and mission (and programs, as the translation of that)—as long as we are true to that, we know we are safe on the journey. It will always be close under foot.”
