Across Screening Groups
Table 5 shows the comparison of the knowledge
scores and subscale scores for the Health Belief
Model for Cervical Cancer and the Pap smear
test after the first-, second-, and third-stage
nursing interventions. The mean knowledge
scores for cervical cancer (3.46 _ 1.24) and
Pap smear (3.50 _ 1.14) and total knowledge
scores (6.96 _ 1.90) were lowest in the group
who declined two offers of free screening and
were interviewed face-to-face. Women who
accepted screening earlier had higher scores on
cervical cancer, Pap smear test, and total knowledge.
