The decision to blow the whistle involves a complicated process that begins with balancing one’s philosophical ethical values with personal and organizational factors that may inhibit the reasons to identify unethical actions. Using the MES scale to attempt to explain behavior, our study examines the underlying reasons why practicing accountants feel they should blow the whistle.
