JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the Assistant Country Manager (ACM) is to function in tandem with the Country Manager (CM) in Yangon, and represent the CM and the company’s goals in the absence of the CM. A willingness to travel and represent the company shall be required, as well as having or developing contacts within the industry and in the capitol, Naypyidaw. The candidate shall conduct market research in the area of hotel and tourism, assist in the management of all departments, and work towards facilitating additional Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), study investment general rules for the head office to pursue investment in-land for further construction of hotels in various locations in the country of Myanmar, which include but not limited to, outsourcing a hotel in various cities for the head office to consider optional approach. In addition, the ACM shall liaise between company executives and government authorities at varying levels; the expectation is for the ACM to advise and support the head office. For functional experts, i.e. accountants, auditors or global trade counsels, in the execution of specific projects, head office shall have all of these expertise resources to provide assistance to the incumbent. Additional cross-over responsibilities for hiring, training and developing talented associates with a significant emphasis on GSS- and AOS-results will also fall within the ACM’s scope; e.g. ensure that all associates are compliant with all policies, standards, procedures and regulations; accommodate guest needs and oversee all department functions; assist the CM, GM and corporate head office in all areas to guarantee operational efficiencies are achieved. Three months ago we inspected one hotel in Cam Ranch Bay. For international politics, US Navy signs MOU to lease the Cam Ranch Bay to move military facilities from U-Tapao to there that is why a lot of hoteliers plan to move there. Six Senses is there already. We have been presented to some hotels in Saigon as well. We have a few in Myanmar in locations of Yangon and Mandalay.
