Back in June, over 2,000 A&O staff and partners took part in a vote to choose the area of focus for our new global charity partnership. The clear winner was “education, training and employment” - a theme that is already a priority in our pro bono and community investment programme, alongside "rule of law".
Many of you also nominated charities to become A&O’s new partner. We contacted all of those charities, inviting them to submit a proposal in keeping with the chosen theme. After a formal selection process, four charities have been shortlisted. It is now up to you to tell us which one you would like to become our new global charity partner.
Please click the links below to watch a short film about each of the charities A&O could support. Each film is no longer than three minutes.
We will be committing significant resources to the charity over the course of the two-year partnership, so it is important that you vote for your favourite from the list. For every vote cast, the A&O Foundation will donate GBP1 to the charity you vote for.
The first GBP250,000 raised will be spent on the project the charities outline in the films. We will work with the charity to find the best use of any funds raised beyond GBP250,000. As with AfriKids, there will be opportunities for you to get involved through legal and non-legal pro bono work, fundraising and taking part in events.
The voting process will close on 3 October, and we’ll announce the winner shortly after then.
If you have any questions about this process, or the global charity partnership in general, please contact Kate Cavelle.
