CAD occurred in all ecozones in Benin and Ghana in up to one-third of inspected fields (Table 2). Disease severity was generally low and in only two ecozones, there were a few plants with symptoms of severity class 3. Fields with plants infected by BlLS and BLS were recorded in all ecozones except the SGS in Benin for BLS. Cercospora vicosae was more frequently found than C. henningsii. The incidence of C. caribaea was generally higher in the more humid ecozones with exception of three sites in the coastal savanna zone of Ghana. Root rots were observed in the RF as well as in the savanna zones, the SGS and the SS in Benin and the Northern Guinea and the (coastal) SS in Ghana.
