Despite ISV metrics being generally highly intercorrelated, it is worth mentioning the exceptions to the rule: measures based on reciprocals. RecipSDRT and LATER r showed relatively low intercorrelations with other ISV measures. This may be, in part, due to their tendency to de-emphasise right-tail RTs compared to most ISV metrics. In light of the possible importance of these RTs, this may be undesirable for an individual differences researcher, but it is equally possible that they are measuring a different but equally interesting form of ISV. Future research should assess whether these metrics are less associated than traditional measures with constructs such as IQ and ADHD, which are thought to be related to the right tail of the RT distribution.
