Twenty-six clinical, laboratory andC T scanf eaturesin 49 patientsw ith tuberculousm eningitis(T BM) were analysed to identify the
parameterosf prognostics ignificanceE. mploying univariatea nalysis,s evenv ariablesw ere found to correlatew ith three month outcome;
these variables included the stage of TBM on admission, focal weaknessG, lasgow coma scale (GCS), incontinence,i nfarction,
hydrocephalus and shunt surgery. Analysing all 26 variables, a conditional logistic regression model was derived. In this model stage of
TBM, age, focal weaknessc, ranial nerve palsy and hydrocephalusw ere found to be contributingt o the three month outcomeo f TBM
patients as assesed by the Barthel index.
