In addition, the program PCI/PIAQ 2007 (Internal Control Program) was recently established by the EACCE. This program is voluntary in nature and aims at implementing a ‘self control’ at firm-level, facilitating border inspections and reducing inefficient at control points. This program includes the Codex references and is harmonized with the EU Hygiene Package and HACCP principles. It also includes elements of International Council Olive ‘IOC’26 guides'. Both ‘Moroccan food law’ (Law 28.07) and ‘PCI/PIAQ program’ include regulations on food safety and traceability (EU food law), food hygiene (HACCP), maximum residue limits (MLRs, GAP), phyto-sanitary certificate and inspections (PSP) and export controls.
