Further, in the current study we have investigated and compared efficiency of new immobilized biocatalyst for seven repeated batch ethanol fermentations of sugar beet thick juice and molasses with goal to examine the possibility of its potential application in the continuous process.
The novelty of the approach lies in the effectiveness of exploitation of intermediate product (thick juice) and by-products (sugar beet pulp and molasses) of sugar beet processing with purpose to obtain efficient ethanol production and to lower high operating cost.
Finally, S. cerevisiae is well known high grade protein–vitamin supplement for different kind of foods and feeds; hence the protein content of exploited biocatalyst was analyzed in order to examine opportunity of its rational reuse.
