Two weeks later this teacher reported that Jerry was now arriving to her class on time and with his materials, but I found he was still experiencing difficulties with these behaviors in his other classes. I then talked with his other teachers, asking them to try this reinforcement pattern. We discussed the desirability of reinforcing other behaviors. We planned to comment on Jerry's appearance when Jerry was not wearing a hat or unusual clothing rather than calling attention to any such embellishment. We planned to respond positively to his more mature speech patterns, ignoring his baby talk and noises. Most of Jerry's teacher were quite willing to participate.
