Rather popular for the Rawai Fish Market, Rawai beach is a great place to relax in the afternoon while lazing out in the low tables and cushions at the water-edge. Perhaps not the best area to sunbathe and lie down on the sand, Rawai beach still offers stunning views either from the beach itself or at the jetty at the Rawai pier.
Most people visit Rawai at the south of Phuket to buy fresh lobsters, giant tiger prawns and fish and have them cooked at the restaurants and cafes in the same place, for a minimal charge. Tourists enjoy the seafood just docked on the same day by fishermen who then sell their catch in this market.
Some pearls and little shops for souvenir items available in the area too, nevertheless the Rawai beach is worth to have a look when you’re in Phuket!
