If everyone on this thread was given the trappings of beauty, extreme wealth, and insulation from the hardships of life, many of us would probably give off the appearance of being (as is said about the Kardashians), "horrible, fake, plastic, selfish" etc etc... I am adopted, and know that for someone to take a child that is not their blood and want to raise them as their own is a selfless, loving, and brave thing to do. She was visiting a Thai orphanage. She wasn't shopping. She wasn't tanning. She wasn't getting a procedure done. To go to an orphanage in the first place means she and her family were at least interested in helping these children and educating themselves about a perspective other than their own. If we all got off of our high horses for a minute, we'd stop bashing other people to make ourselves feel big... even celebrities.
