The experimental data of dynamic behavior of gasifier i.e. variation of producer gas composition and zone temperature with time are scarce. An equilibrium model is also developed and simulation
results are validated with the experimental data. The air is entered into the oxidation zone and steam is entered directly into the reduction zone of the gasifier, which promotes the gasification reactions. Combustion reactions associated with the air supply and the heat generated from combustion is used to carry out the steam reforming reactions, taking place in the reduction zone.The gasifier performance is evaluated by varying wide operating conditions including steam to biomass ratio and equivalence ratio.The objectives of the present study are to understand the effects of direct introduction of steam in the reduction zone of the gasifier on temperature profile, product gas composition and efficiency
