IV. LEVELS OF MATURITY
Human life is subject to a developmental process from conception to old age. Although each individual life is unique, all basically go through the same sequence. Level of development is the passing of the self from its emergence in the child until its full development in the adult. Personality theories of Freud (1940/1964), Erikson (1950), Bowlby (1988), and Maslow (1968) deal with the process of attaining an increasingly more pervasive sense of psychological health and well-being related to growth and development in socio-emotional maturity.
