The chemical compositions of three natural polysaccharides are
shown in Table 1. The result showed that the main chemical components
of these samples were total sugar and protein, along with
uronic acid.
Neutral monosaccharide constitutions of the polysaccharides
were analyzed by HPLC. Results showed that glucose was the main
sugar form in all the samples. In addition, the more content of
monosaccharides was xylose and arabinose. The other common
monosaccharides were also seen in these samples, which show
that chemical property may have great influence on antioxidant
activities
