For hydrogels, a coating of at least 3mm
is necessary and smaller or deeper wounds
may be completely filled with the gel.
Hydrogel sheets should be applied so they
overlap 2cm around the wound edges
(Strohal et al, 2013). Wounds treated withthis combination will need frequent
dressing changes and extra care must be
taken to protect the wound edges, which
may become saturated with exudate.
