Depression is cause by a chemical imbalance in the brain. Symptoms of the illnesss include irritability , extreme sadness, anxiety, sleeplessness, feelings of worthlessness, and apathy or indifference. Although these problems can become recurrent or chronic and lead to substantial impairment in an individual’s ability to fulfill everyday responsibilities, fewer than 25 per cent of those affected receive effective treatment. Many people do not seek help because they don’t deserve it. In some cause, they experience shame or guilt about being sick
