1.Touch and Hold is important!
The basic gesture flow will be the following three, Touch -> Gesture->Hold. Points to be careful here is, once you touch the touch sensor, let it go immediately. Once you finish your gesture, please HOLD your finger where you finished for more than a second.
※It’s often forgotten to touch the touch sensor before you start or touch while making the gesture but please avoid that and make sure to touch before you start.
※the LED will blink once if your gesture was read successfully.
2.Do not forget to turn on the Ring!
Ring is usually turned off to save battery and to avoid mistakenly operating on its own.
Please hold the touch sensor for more than 2 seconds to turn the power on before you start.
※After it’s turned on, if you do not do anything for more than 3 minutes it will automatically turn off.
※The LED will blink once if the power is turned on.
3.No need to make big gestures!
When making a gesture you do not need to make a big gesture using your entire arm.
Ring can detect the smallest motion of the wrist and finger movements.
※The accuracy will increase if you make your gesture with your palm facing down.
4.Place the Ring correctly!
Put the Ring on your right index finger. The LED should be on the left side of your finger and touch sensor on the left lower side.
If it’s not properly placed the gesture recognition accuracy will decrease.
※The touch sensor should not be completely on the left but lower left of your finger.
5.Ring and smartphone should be within 2 meters!
The ideal distance for the iOS or Android that will be synced should be within 2 meters.
If it’s further than this, your gesture may not be recognized.
Also concrete objects can block the Bluetooth signal.
※If it’s not connected the LED will blink twice and let you know it’s a connection error.
6.Ring can operate when the iPhone is idle!
Ring operates when the Ring App is in the background mode. The App does not need to be open.
For example, you can have your iPhone in your pocket and skip songs with your gesture.
※This will depend on the action, for some actions the App needs to be open.
7.Customize your own gesture!
Ring has default gestures but you can customize these gestures as well as adding new actions and gestures.
※We suggest you not to use the same gesture for different actions!
8.Be careful with the direction when charging!
Place your ring LED facing up on the battery stand when charging.
If it’s the wrong way it won’t start charging. It will fully be charged in a few hours.
※With normal use, the battery will last one – three days.
9.Let’s learn how to touch and hold!
Touch and start your gesture. (Remember if the Ring is turned off, you need to turn it on by holding for more than 2 seconds)
You will hold to turn on the Ring. By holding the touch sensor when it’s already turned on, you can clear your current gesture and start over.(This function is similar to the smartphone home button)
※If there’s an error or when it’s not stable, we recommend you to hold the touch sensor to make it stable.
※Until you get used to it, we recommend you to hold ( instead of touch) then start your gesture. This will make it easy for you.
10.Check your status from the LED!
If your gesture was successfully read the LED will blink once, if it’s an error it will blink twice.
Vibration is the same too, if it was successful once, an error it will vibrate twice.
Blink once → When Ring is turned on OR when gesture went through.
Blink twice → Connecting error with your smartphone OR gesture error.
※Connecting error could be when the Ring and the smartphone is too far away or it’s not synced.
