Note that the plastids maintain their sausage-like morphology throughout the cell cycle and that they do not form reticulate structures. Arrows point to stromule-like connections between plastids. As seen in (G and H), these narrow bridging structures have highly variable lengths, contain stroma materials, but are devoid of thylakoids.
