To the best of our knowledge, no previous work has provided an insight view into the smart wind power farms. No detail model is given for communication network architectures, network topologies, communication technologies or types of shared data among wind turbines. As wind turbines will be intelligent machines in the S-WPFs, turbines will be able to communicate and share sensing data together. Our recent work in [7] considered the recent progress of PON infrastructure for large-scale WPFs. In this paper, the advance in wireless communication is converged with the PON architecture in order to achieve the future S-WPFs. The purpose of this paper is to:
