The objective of this study was to evaluate safety (in
terms of detecting possible adverse clinical effects attributable
to vaccination), efficacy, and production benefits
from the use of an anti-GnRF vaccine in male pigs
raised under commercial field conditions in Greece, administered
with an extended interval from second vaccination
to slaughter. The evaluation was based on comparisons
between anti-GnRF vaccinated pigs, physical
castrates (barrows), and intact boars in terms of growth
parameters, feed conversion, and carcass quality.
