The configuration of the Jason-2 passes near Ajaccio is
also presented in Fig. 7. The diamonds indicate the crossover
points where the bias was estimated at this calibration
site. The estimation at the crossover point between the
Jason-2 track 222 and the Envisat track 130 (P222/130) is
done following the same method as for the point A in
Fig. 1, via the Envisat track 130, which flies over the Ajaccio
calibration site. The crossover point between the Jason-2
tracks 009 and 222 (P009/222) is exactly in the same configuration
as in the case of the estimation at the Senetosa site,
except that the transfer of the offshore SSH is done via the
crossover point P222/130. The same path is used for the
evaluation at the crossover point between the Jason-2
tracks 085 and 222 (P085/222). In these two cases, the bias
estimates in Ajaccio can be directly compared to the
estimates in Senetosa, giving an assessment of the regional
method stability when using non-dedicated sites. Moreover,
the crossover points P085/222 and P222/130 being
nearby, they are expected to give close bias estimates.
