Fifty percent of nursing education in Norway consists of clinical practice where the students are under the supervision of registered nurses. The intention of clinical practice is to acquire basic nursing skills in a natural environment [4]. The number of nursing students rose by 14 % between 2010 to 2014, from 3,179 to 3,630 [5].
The decrease in the number of hospital beds in parallel with the increase in the number of nursing students has created a challenge in terms of providing the best possible learning facilities under given conditions in hospitals.
