5. Conclusion
This study has shown us that cellulosic waste obtained from
cassava tubers after starch processing can be utilized for the
production of bioethanol. Pretreatment of the waste with HCl and
simultaneous hydrolysis at conditions of pH 6.9, temperature
100 C, time 1h (amylase) produces more disaccharide. Subsequent
saccharification with amyloglucosidase at pH 4.6, temperature
55 C, and time 20 h have enabled the exploitation of these waste
materials thereby producing more glucose for fermentation.
