The potential demand for SRWC biomass might come from
the central heating plants and the co-generation plants utilizing
wood products [21]. In 2012, there were 663 heating plants in Latvia (248 in Riga region, 120 in Vidzeme, 115 in Kurzeme, 101
in Zemgale and 79 in Latgale region) with a total production
capacity of 3,0464.4 MW of heat energy [10]. The total amount of
heat generated in these plants was 3,187,800 MWh [10]
