2.8. Relative inactivation value (RIV) of combined non-thermal
treatments
In order to compare different treatments, a relative inactivation
value (RIV) was defined as the ratio of the difference between the
inactivation level achieved by a combined treatment and that of
the non-thermal treatment alone, and the inactivation level of the
coating application alone (Eq. (1)), and was calculated during the
14-days storage.
