The XRD patterns were obtained from Siefert X-ray diffrac to meter
using CuKa radiation (l = 1.5406 A˚ ) at 60 keV over the range of
2u = 208–708 and the average size of the crystallites were calculated
by Scherrer equation. The respective XRD patterns were also used to
check the nature of the nanoparticles (amorphous or crystalline) and
symmetry. FTIR spectra of the various samples prepared here were
recorded by Bruker optics-Germany IR Spectrometer. This technique
is used to verify the functional groups present in the uncoated/
coated fabrics. The surface morphology of the prepared iron oxide
and chromia nano particles were analysed using FESEM Carl Zeiss
SUPRA-55. The SEM images of the surface modified cotton fabrics
were obtained using the Scanning Electron Microscope SU1510,
