Goal of Education
Introduction
The College of Humanities consists of the Department of Korean Language and Literature, Department of English Language and Literature, Department of French Language and Literature, Department of History, and Department of Culture and Contents.
The Department of Korean Language and Literature is designed to provide students with basic and professional knowledge in the Korean language and Korean literature and maximize academic efficiency and their organic nature. The department of English Language and Literature trains students in the English language and English literature, aiming to enhance students' skills in English through training in English conversation and writing by native English-speaking faculty, while the Department of French Language and Literature ,stresses practicality and aims to enhance students' skills in the French language through training in conversation and writing. The Department of History aims to help students gain a comprehensive systematic understanding of Korean history, Asian history, and Western history through diverse and balanced education including field training in various sites for cultural relics. The Department of Culture and Contents offers a variety of programs and nurtures professionals of storytelling and planning with a wide range of humanistic knowledge and practical competency.
With the vitalizations of the undergraduate program, earning a double major at Ajou University is common. Accordingly, undergraduate humanities students can overcome their vulnerability in the job market and benefit from their majors and have better opportunities to find jobs than students in other majors depending upon how much time and effort they invest in their studies.
