The Newsletter module allows you to quickly collect email addresses and store them for later use. The modules can be added to any layout in any position, including the Footer.
Newsletter in Footer
Create a Newsletter module but don't add it to a layout
Go to Footer > Menu > Add Row > Add Column
Select Newsletter and choose the module you've just created
If you want your module in a single column edit Items per Row in the Row settings (drag all sliders to 1)
Subscribe / Unsubscribe popup messages can be customized in Settings > Modules > Newsletter
Subscribers List
Since version 2.2.3 the list of newsletter subscribers can be found in Setting > Modules > Newsletter > Newsletter Subscribers. You can unsubscribe any user and you can export the entire list in CSV format for use in your mailing application.
1 Module Name - This is the module name that will appear on the Add to Layout page.
2 Module Title - Adds title in the store front in the title bar atop your module. Leave empty if you don't want a title.
3 Module Text - Optional text to accompany the email input field.
4 Module Text Font - Font settings for the text above.
5 Module Background - The background settings of the module.
6 Module Border - The border settings of the module. Applies around the entire module.
7 Module Padding - Adds interior spacing around the optional text and input fields.
8 Text Position - Whether to render the text on the left side or on top of the input field.
9 Input Height - The height in pixels of the actual input field.
10 Input Placeholder - Placeholder text that appears inside the input field.
11 Input Background Color - Applies to the input field.
12 Input Border Settings - Border settings for the input field.
13 Button Text - The subscribe button text.
14 Button Icon - Optional Icon for the subscribe button.
15 Button Border Settings - Optional border settings for the button.
16 Button Offset - Adjust the button top/bottom or left/right within the input field. Can use negative values to move it in and out.
17 Disable on Mobile - Optionally disable the module on mobile devices.
