Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has admitted that he prefers to play at centre-back, but will play wherever coach Carlo Ancelotti picks him.
The Spain international was moved to right-back for Tuesday’s Champions League draw with Juventus in Turin. However, he revealed that Ancelotti is not planning to make the switch permanent.
Speaking before flying back to the Spanish capital, Ramos said: “If I have to choose, then I like playing in central defence. The coach told me that it was a one-off thing, that Juventus attacked a lot in that area.”
He added: “In any case, footballers just want to be in the eleven and try to help the team. It isn’t down to us to choose [where we play].”
