The waste water outflow of the university is drained
gravitationally through sewer system and is subsequently
treated in a sewage plant the university. The sewage
treatment plant has a capacity of 1.0 million litres per day
but it has a load of 1.7 to 2.0 million litres per day. Hence
the plant is operated at almost double of its capacity
resulting in less treatment time and lower efficiency of plant
[]. Water demand for irrigation and losses are not included
in this calculation since this water is infiltrating the soil and
not flowing to the sewage plant. The calculation of water
flow for treatment is also carried out using Rautenberg et al.
[11] method with necessary adaptations.
