. A Critical Evaluation of the public Educator perspective
Strengths
First of all, the public educator perspective, of those considered, most embodies social justice and the furtherance of democracy in its aims for mathematics education. It is the only ideology with the explicit aim of enhancing the self-realization of the learner both fully committed to social justice, with regard to the social and political implications of providing (mathematics for all) or better (mathematics by all) especially for underprivileged social groups (Volmink, 1990). It promotes a vision of (socialist society)(swetz, 1978, page 3). Thus, the public educator aims concern mathematics education based on democratic socialist principles and values.
