As can be observed, the weight of gel attached to the film was higher when PVOH was
in higher proportion. The data can be explained taking into account that the viscosity of the medium increases with the increasing of PVOH percentage. According to the Landau–Levich law, in a dipping process the thickness of the coating directly grows with viscosity, so working always at the same withdrawal rate, it is reasonable to suppose that the weight increases as reported.
