Types of outcome measures
1) Maximal exercise capacity (peak exercise capacity measured in
an exercise laboratory using an incremental exercise test), constant
power exercise capacity (e.g. cycle endurance) and functional exercise
capacity (e.g. timed walking tests), combined or individually
2) Maximum training level achieved during exercise training
3) End-of-test dyspnoea scores before and after training sessions
(e.g. Borg scores or a visual analogue scale)
4) Health-related quality of life (e.g. Chronic Respiratory Questionnaire)
5) Arterial oxygen saturation (pulse oximetry or arterial blood
gases) post exercise test
