Eastern Sarus Crane (Grus antigone sharpii) is a large water bird that extinct from the wild of Thailand more than 3 decades and were classified to wildlife reserve species in the Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act, 1992. So, Zoological Park Organization, Thailand (ZPO) which successes in the captive breed of Eastern Sarus Crane had released them to the natural wetland in Huay-Jorakaemak reservoir non-hunting area (HJM) and Sanambin reservoir non-hunting area (SNB) of Burirum province since 2011. This study, the researcher interested to studying the suitable wetlands interested to studying in criteria and factors that support to habitat selection of Eastern Sarus Crane after released back to the nature for applied in the model of habitat suitability index (HSI).
