In this present work, we have demonstrated biosynthesis of
AgNPs by reduction of aqueous silver nitrate (AgNO3) using aqueous
Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam. seed powder extract (ASPE),
in autoclave at 15 psi pressure, 121 ◦C for 5 min. Jackfruit Seeds
provide a new, non toxic, environment friendly and cost effective
reducing agent for bioreduction of AgNO3 and which are easily
available in tropical fruit growing countries which otherwise has
no other use. The biosynthesis of AgNPs was investigated using
various concentrations of AgNO3 in the presence of ASPE using various
available techniques. Additionally, we have also examined the
antibacterial activity of these biosynthesized AgNPs since AgNPs
has been widely used as an antibacterial agent.
