Backpacking is a form of low-cost, independent international travel. It includes the use of a backpack or other luggage that is easily carried for long distances or long periods of time; the use of public transport; inexpensive lodging such as youth hostels; a longer duration to the trip when compared with conventional vacations; and an interest in meeting the locals as well as seeing the sights. It is typically associated with young adults, who generally have fewer obligations and thus more time to travel. They also have less money to spend on hotels or private vehicles.
You’ll Learn Something This is a cast iron guarantee, and the first reason to get out and see the world. You will learn something that you never knew before, and whether it’s something about yourself or the outside world, backpacking is an opportunity to soak up stuff that you would never find by just sitting at home. The Sights Seeing something in a photo or on T.V. can never compare to the real thing. There are certain things that need to be seen in person for you to get the full experience. Llastly, if you needed one more benefit from backpacking it’s this. It’s fun. Even the parts you don’t enjoy at the time, when you get back home and tell everyone about it. Enjoy.
Disadvantages sometimes it's more expensive. In those rare times you find yourself completely alone, it's safer to take a cab but then it's more expensive as you have no one to split it with. You do get lonely. You may be in a place where there are no other people around that day, or in a hostel where everyone else is asleep. This is when you become aware you are alone, and that you haven't even spoken to another person in too long. You are always experiencing 'that was incredible' moments and sometimes you might be experiencing them alone, these moments are when you wished someone else was there too share it with you. But there will always be more moments, and more friends, so enjoy the freedom and cherish the memories.
