Use of Sub-Brands in Property Names and Logos
1. Best Western highly discourages the use of Sub-Brands within the Best Western chain. Any such use that infringes a third-party’s rights is prohibited. Even when such use is non-infringing, doing so may make it difficult for consumers to distinguish between the Third-Party Brand and the
Best Western Brand and may dilute the strength of the Best Western Brand. Best Western expressly reserves the right to require a property to modify its signage and/or promotional materials, or to adopt a new property name and/ or logo that is sufficiently distinct from a Third-Party Brand, at any time, if in
its sole discretion it deems it necessary to avoid confusion or to otherwise protect the Best Western Brand.
a. When using a Sub-Brand in a property name or logo, the property name or logo must be used in a manner that clearly identifies a single hotel. The use of such property names must also conform to all other rules in this manual.
